Novice Scent Work Group Class

Service Description

This 6-week AKC Scent Work Novice group class is a fun, engaging way to let your dog do what they love most—use their nose! Scent work builds confidence, focus, and problem-solving skills while providing excellent mental enrichment for dogs of all ages and breeds. Dogs will learn to recognize AKC-approved target odors and search for them in a variety of beginner-friendly settings, including containers, interiors, exteriors, and buried hides (as appropriate). Handlers will learn how to support their dog’s searches and read body language, all in a relaxed, supportive group environment. This class is perfect for pet dogs who enjoy a new challenge, dogs needing confidence-building activities, or teams curious about scent work with no pressure to compete. While the skills taught follow the AKC Novice framework, participation in trials is completely optional—this class is all about having fun and working together. No prior scent work experience is required.
